UK FinTech Hi Group appoints Lee Cullinane as General Counsel
By Gloria Methri
Social Enterprise payroll platform Hi Group has appointed Lee Cullinane to the position of General Counsel. Cullinane comes with extensive experience as a legal professional in several high-profile law firms in London.
He will play a critical role in the company’s expansion, providing strategic advice on all aspects of the business operation including governance, and corporate and institutional legal matters.
Having graduated from the Queen Mary University of London, Cullinane joined Clifford Chance LLP and became a partner in the practice. He subsequently became a partner in Mayer Brown and then White & Case LLP, where as Regional Section Head he led the firm’s banking practice in EMEA from 2012-19.
More recently, he was a partner in McGuireWoods’ London office, where he led the firm’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa finance group.
On his appointment, Cullinane said, “It is an exciting time to join the Hi Group which has gone from strength to strength over the past year. I look forward to being part of the team as we gear up to lead the way in providing companies with much-needed cash and employees with flexible access to their salary which can help them through the cost-of-living crisis.”
David Brown, Founder and Chief Executive of Hi Group said, “Lee has a very impressive track record at some of the most prestigious law firms across London and so we are delighted to have him onboard. His expertise will be integral as we enter our next growth stage and deliver on our vision to make payroll more accessible for everyone.”
Hi is a FinTech platform that allows employers to finance payroll, whilst paying their staff sooner. For companies, financing payroll means improved financial liquidity, a new source of working capital, and, with our flexible pay products, the ability to attract and retain the best talent.
