ING appoints BCG Managing Director Peter Adams as the new CEO

Dutch banking group ING has announced the appointment of Peter Adams as the new Chief Executive Officer in Belgium. Peter will be assuming the position from 2nd of January, 2021. He will be succeeding Erik Van Den Eynden, who left the company on 1 October 2020 and will report to Pinar Abay as head of Market Leaders.
The new CEO is currently the managing director and senior partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Previously, he was the managing partner for BCG in Belgium and Luxembourg. He has extensive experience in both the local and international financial sector and has been involved in major banking industry transformations in the Nordics, UK and Benelux.
Recently, ING announced a partnership with genesis, the low code application platform for financial markets, in a bid to launch the Credit Insurance Application. The CIA is a deal-flow and portfolio application that aims to transform the management of credit and political risk insurance globally.
It also announced the appointment of Ljiljana Čortan as the new Chief Risk Officer and a member of the Management Board Banking effective 1 January 2021. She will be succeeding Steven van Rijswijk, who was appointed CEO of ING effective 1 July 2020.
Headquartered in the Netherlands, ING Group is a multinational banking and financial services corporation with primary businesses in retail, direct, commercial, investment, wholesale and private banking along with asset management and insurance services.
