Revolut, a global financial super app, has announced the appointment of senior banking and FinTech expert Francesca Carlesi as UK CEO. Francesca Carlesi’s appointment adds to Revolut’s increasingly diverse leadership group as well as wider talent pool.
Richard Holmes, Chairman of Revolut UK, said, “I am delighted to welcome Francesca to the Revolut UK team. As we continue to build out our leadership team, her extensive experience across the banking and fintech sectors makes her the perfect CEO to drive our UK business forward. As a founder of her own fintech, and having spent many years across the banking industry, Francesca knows what it takes to challenge the banking incumbents, and I look forward to celebrating her successes here in the months to come.”
Francesca spent more than 15 years in the financial industry across a range of sectors including private equity, retail and commercial banking, investment banking and asset and wealth management. She held senior roles at Deutsche Bank and Barclays, as well as at McKinsey & Co. and Bridgepoint Capital. Most recently, Francesca founded and was CEO of Molo, the UK’s fully digital mortgage lender.
Francesca Carlesi, CEO of Revolut UK, said, “Revolut is the future of digital banking. With nearly eight million customers in the UK and a diversified product offering, the company is at the forefront of change in financial services. There are so many growth opportunities and I couldn’t be more excited to be leading the way for the UK. We have big things planned, so watch this space.”
