UK FinTech Tintra selects Temenos to power AI-led Inclusive Banking
By Gloria Methri
Tintra, a London-based Deep Tech and Banking firm, has selected Temenos to power its new bank designed for emerging market clients. Tintra will be using Temenos core banking platform and payments as well as its Financial Crime Mitigation solution.
Tintra plans to create fiscal inclusion in trade and finance across the emerging world through a strategic network of full bank licenses on four continents.
It has developed patented end-to-end AI technology that mitigates human intervention in Know Your Customer and Anti Money Laundering to optimize payment processes and compliance between emerging and developed markets.
The Tintra technological innovations connect via APIs with Temenos’ open platform to deliver a single, end-to-end solution for onboarding, transaction management, monitoring, and forex services.
Tintra currently is in discussion with regulators globally and has already secured a FinTech Services License to operate in the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) and Payment Intermediary Service License in Mauritius.
The firm is also applying for regulatory licenses from the UK, Puerto Rico, and Singapore, with a new African option being investigated. Temenos’ regional functionality and packaged country model bank framework will help Tintra to quickly comply with local regulations and business practices.
Richard Shearer, Founder of Tintra, commented, “Tintra has global ambitions, and building our borderless banking infrastructure on top of Temenos means we benefit from Temenos’ vast global experience and the regional functionality of its country-specific model banks. This will enable us to go live faster and focus investment to bring our revolutionary AML/KYC solution to market.”
Juan Cejudo, Managing Director – Europe, Temenos, said, “We are proud to be selected by Tintra, an exciting new player that is driving innovation in banking for emerging markets. Temenos is the banking platform of choice for banks and FinTechs of all sizes – incumbents, and challengers. We have been working closely with the Tintra team as it builds out its strategy and offering and we look forward to supporting them as they continue to evolve and grow.”
