The National Garden Scheme and SumUp partnered to digitalize donations
By Joy Dumasia
SumUp the London based FinTech and The National Garden Scheme continue to lead the digitalisation of charity at an event supported by Dame Mary Berry, President of the National Garden Scheme.
The partnership between SumUp and CollectIn means that charitable donations are as effortless as buying a coffee. In a single deft motion, you can now change someone’s life, invaluable fund research, and provide support to some of the most vulnerable people in society.
According to SumUp data, 73% of charities say that street giving is falling simply because people do not carry enough cash, so investing in digital solutions seems the inevitable way forward; however, only 14% of charities say they are well prepared to take advantage of contactless payments.
Events such as those organised by the National Garden Scheme are central to the charity’s long-term health and success. It supports numerous charities such as the Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.
SumUp is a financial technology company that allows businesses of all sizes to receive payments quickly and, both in-store and online. They support over 3 million merchants globally and operates in 33 markets across Europe, the US, Brazil and Chile.
Umberto Zola, Country Growth Lead UK at SumUp, said: “SumUp is delighted to support the UK’s charitable sector through our partnership with the National Garden Scheme and CollecTin. It is only right to make our technology and network available to the people that provide care and support to people in need. Supporters of the National Garden Scheme are funding incredible work, and we at SumUp are only too happy to help in any way we can.”
Recently, IBS Intelligence reported that Global payments service provider SumUp brings its UK-based customers Apple Pay. A safer, more secure and private way to pay helps SumUp merchants avoid handing their payment card to someone else, touching physical buttons or exchanging cash.
